Afraid to LookA Poem by TomboyVisionaryAfraid to Look In a world full of judgment, you will meet plenty who look at you with spite They come in crowds, often to display their false might Frightened to do upon themselves, for like many others are terrified of what they might see I'm guilty of this, but often it feels like I am conquering the sea Iron sharpens iron but without such they are put to the test I've seen many break, but it gladdens me to know in chaos I can rest Never judge to harshly for they are dealing with their own But if one is broken beyond repair, the wrath of nature shall be shown A saint I am not, rage wrecked upon thy as I refused to hearken But its never to late to to turn around, plenty will be confused to listen You alone know what lies behind your mindful intentions Some will attack, many will judge, few will hide violent retentions Everyone in this universe has demons they avoid to acknowledge Baring masks and armor to prevent malicious damage Strip away the face and the false skin, and see what they become See them quiver, or drown in a bottle of rum You are only a victim of their yaps if you believe to be It is up to you to figure how to deal with thee Strike back, be silent, or let life do its very course Let them recognize their faults, but be wary of your own halts When the lights are shut off, our true selves emerge Concealed scars and wounds, negative thoughts all begin to merge We must help one another, but often times that is not the case Be at peace with it and let the fire carve you into your own pace Majority will be afraid to look within themselves To muster what little strength they can gain in self charm for them to sell As for you, never be afraid to combat your demons Own that s**t with every bit of grit and fiber in your being Your path, your journey is all that you should be seeking
