A Poem by Tomatosoup
"

-

"

There’s a dark cold settling

Between the points where my joints used to

Meet

They seep

Beneath, spreading out under stiff skin

They’re the painful glow of fluorescent lights

flickering

On chafed eyelids and

Red-crossed pupils.

I blink under their scrutiny-

Once, twice

Thrice.

And I count the seconds which flow in tandem

Like amateur notes on a Styrofoam keyboard.
