We Are But The Workers

We Are But The Workers

A Poem by Tomás Ó Cárthaigh
"

Dedicated to all caught in the Credit Crunch...

"

---------------------------------------------------------
Lehman Brothers, the bust bank, and
James Connolly the Irish labour leader.
--------------------------------------------------------

We are but the workers

On lifes bottom rung

And when the tough times come

Out to dry were hung

Were blamed because a bank

Lent more money than it owned

And then we lose our houses

When the rich are dethroned

The majority is democracy

And in their intrest it rules

But those who fail to understand

Have not attended lifes schools

For yes its true decomracy rules

For the greater majority

Its for those with most of the cash

Not the most of the people like you and me

LoL - nice poke the the upper crust. It is true how those who have made laws lately do so with the end results pointing in their favor. Great work. Very true portrait of todays financial athmosphere.

Ah lar! we've stood on the same spot, looked at the same view, sipped on the same single malt, and appreciate the working Class (capitalC) outlook on life and its realities

The greed inpersonified....well done, and this is not everything, it is just the beginning of something.

This truth reflects or rather goes along with my poem Devoid...

You write with great power and spirit, as if you'd like to alter the past.. sadly that's impossible, but, we should never forget but learn from it.

Thank you for sharing
