Tonight I Write Without Any Ink

Tonight I Write Without Any Ink

A Poem by Tomás Ó Cárthaigh
"

Poet ponders the impact of technology on creativity

"

Tonight I write without any ink
And stain no page with the written word
And if in times past a writer did think
It could be so, we would say it absurd
You could not do it in music... no
But hold on... we already do
I need no voilin to play fast or slow
I can make it sound real and true
I can sing to Elvis though he's dead
Its like him I stand beside
And Im not singing in my head
Its as if he never died...
Computers they are womderful things
When they are used correct and write
The joy to others computers brings
To them this ode I write tonight

lol Awesome. I love the way your poem flows... rhyming and rhythm have become your b*****s at this point. ;) This is excellent. Very clever. ^^ ...and funny as well. I know how hesitant some people are to completely ditch the pen/pencil and paper... Tradition: 'Tis hard to break. Hehehe...

it is a refreshing point of view. usually you tend to hear people complaining about the lost art of writing, hand-writing that is. i think both sides present a valid argument, surely there is a golden midle? :-)
