The Rose Garden

The Rose Garden

A Poem by Anthony
"

There's a certain duality in love

"
Love is like walking through a rose garden
who's sweet scent surrounds us,
but no pain must be forgotten.

That cold iron tinge of our own blood
as those thorns rip through our skin
pouring forth like a crimson flood.

Until we reach their warm embrace
and we find it all right there
in that soft, loving place.

Excellent use of metaphor to describe love. This my friend is new use for the old rose/thorn metaphor. Nicely done!
