the wind's gust

the wind's gust

A Poem by Togo and Fritz

The chilling silence at the top

Sitting at my stop

I watched the world drop

Tired of my own echos, I let my spikes flop

Hoping it was my call

I was ready to lose it all

Let everything fall

Trading in victor to be a porcelain doll

She said I knew I was only making memories to cry over

I inched forward, you held me closer

I could see the end, way before it’s all over

Yes, I knew I was my own joker

As predicted, innocence fades to treason

You couldn’t give a reason

Left me standing in my prison

Fighting with the new demons

The chilling silence at the bottom

The world I knew had fallen

Saying I will never again trust

I knew I will always be alone in the wind’s gust.
