Dear MedusaA Poem by Tobias ÅdinA (presumably) unique interpretation of Medusa from Greek mythology. Dear Medusa aims to give justice to a person vilified for centuries.
Dear Medusa,
Did you weep, as they turned against you? Did you grieve, As the Gods decreed that you were to blame? Did your fury and burning rage Turn you into a hidden beast? I don't think so. Medusa, my friend, I stand with you. You were a victim, They made you into a beast, A foul creature meant to be feared, hated. The serpentine hair, The petrifying glare. Did you weep, I wonder, As Perseus, that vile man, Turned you against yourself? Were you a beast of legend, Slain by a "hero"? Or were you a victim, Betrayed by the Gods and the people? Did your sisters weep, I wonder? Did they weep, Or did they fight? Fight for their sister, For justice, but alas, Our "hero" took you away. Did they cry, Or did they die? Oh, Medusa. The burning rage, I feel it too. Medusa, I stand with you. © 2017 Tobias ÅdinAuthor's Note
