Morning Slumber

Morning Slumber

A Poem by TNAULREY

Up again
Feet on floor

Into the dark
Out the door

Coffee hot
Fingers cold

Start the car
Engine roars

Out the driveway
Down the street

All I love
Still asleep

Moon above
Shining down

Wishing I could
Turn around

Car reverse
Back down the street

In the driveway
Out of seat

Car door locked
Through the door

Up the stairs
Toss shoes on floor

Feet in bed
Laying down

All I love
Sleeping sound

This is funny and I love how quick and witty it reads - if only we could reverse that darn car every day and stay home with the ones we love!

Excellent use of words. Humorous yet beautiful. :D
