I'll Be Alright, As Long As You Think Of Me While You're GoneA Poem by Tyler.mallett
She left us
At the end of the rope. She said goodbye, Killing our only hope. Our very future, vanishing in front of our eyes. Our longest past, brought to an end at last. And I don't know what being in love feels like. But I think you're the closest to it I've ever been. And I don't know what being alive is like. But I'd hoped you'd let me in. I just wanted to be enough to make you stay. I just wanted to be the one reason you didn't go away. I know things are hard. I know things are rough. But just know that you're always in my mind. You're always enough. I'll always hope that you're thinking of me, just the same. I'll always wonder if the only thing you can think about is my name. Call me crazy, but I'd leave this place. Call me crazy for wanting to see your face. My home is in the south, but my heart is with you. Alone in a crowd, but my heart's still with you. And I don't know what being in love feels like. But I think you're the closest to it I've ever been. And I don't know what being alive is like. But I'd hoped you'd let me in. I miss you. Tell me what I should do. There's no limit to what I'd go through. Just tell me what to do. I miss you. And now I know what being in love feels like. And you're the only love there's ever been. And now I know what being alive is like. I'm just hoping you let me in. © 2017 Tyler.mallett |
