Here's Hoping That Being A Gentleman Works This Time

Here's Hoping That Being A Gentleman Works This Time

A Poem by Tyler.mallett

Saturate your words
In something bigger than passion.
Why don't we talk about your eyes
Or something of that fashion.
So, give me the truth.
How do you feel about love?
Am I all you've ever wanted?
What you've been dreaming of?
I'll tell you everything I see.
But I'd rather die than to have you believe me.

Do you prefer a subtle hint, or an audacious gesture?
Something soft, or something with texture?
I'd like to think I'd do anything for you,
So let's pretend that it's true.
Let's take advantage of my silence.
Put an end to all this violence.
Let's be the liberals of our families,
And the conservatives amongst our friends.
I'll tell you everything I see.
But I'd rather die than to have you believe me.

Never mind all the times I've been quiet.
When Hell gets ice water, I'll sing.
That shouldn't stand in the way.
It shouldn't put a wall up.
Right now, I am here.
I am loud.
I am proud.
I am bold.
I am sold.
I am telling you everything I see.
But I'd rather die than to have you believe me.
