Pathetic

Pathetic

A Poem by Tyler.mallett

There's always opportunities, but I know you'd say no.
So I'll just listen. I wouldn't dare sing along.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but it's hard to be right
When the past has constantly proved you wrong.
And if you are what you eat
Then I guess I'm nothing.
And if you are how you feel when no one is looking
Then I must be pathetic.
I've watched "Control"
I've seen Ian Curtis hang himself umpteen times
And there hasn't been once that I haven't cried.
I couldn't have given myself a better name
Yet I'll never stop complaining about the one I've got.
And maybe youre busy, and that's why you didn't answer.
But there's other possibilities, and that's why I've become cancer.
Take it with a grain of salt, dear. I've got nothing interesting to say.
But if you are what you eat
Then I guess I'm nothing.
And if you are what you do when no one is looking
Then I must be hurting.
