Still Cold

Still Cold

A Poem by Tyler.mallett

I've tasted the cigarettes.
I've drank their wine.
But none of it tasted
How I thought it in my mind.
It just goes to show
Nothing's how you expect it.
Everything's fine until you
Learn to regret it.
Where was the kick that I needed
When all I needed was life?
All I got was a crutch
When arrogance taught me to lie.

The zest for life has turned to disappointment.
Turned to disappointment.
And I disappoint myself.
Money can't buy happiness,
Because happiness ain't free.
I swear I'd tear my own arm off
Just to feel something.

I'd give my right arm just to feel like i'm worth something.
I'd give my right arm just to have some worth.

My zest for life has turned to disappointment.
Turned to disappointment.
And I disappoint myself.
Money can't buy happiness,
But it can buy your guns.
