Replaced

Replaced

A Poem by JordanJF
"

I've just been thinking about stuff lately and felt like expressing it through a poem. Hope you enjoy.

"
The thought of being replaced.
It makes you feel like there's something better out there.
Something that can persuade the other to forget about you.
Truthfully, nobody can possibly enjoy the thought of being replaced.

For if you think of it in a candle's perspective.
A candle burning in a cold wood cabin during a freezing winter day.
It burns so that you may see.
Even without the use of electricity.
Though this candle burns, without knowledge that it would be instantly replaced as soon as it finished it's duty.
Do you really think it would keep burning if it was able to know this?

For if you think of it in a screwdriver's perspective.
A screwdriver that was bought solely for the act of unscrewing a screw.
It doesn't complain when you spin it's head around and around just to get the job finished.
It does it's job when you need it.
Though this screwdriver lends itself, without the knowledge that once it breaks, it just get's thrown away for a new one.
Do you really think it would keep lending itself if it was able to know this?

And here we are, us Humans.
We give ourselves to one another with the thought of our significant other loving us.
We get jealous when we see them do things out of the ordinary with other people.
We tell ourselves they're nothing but a friend.
But deep down, do we really think this?
With every event like that, we pull back more and more.
Until the thought of not being wanted takes over.

I thought that this was so relatable and I loved the emotion you put into it

its very nicely done jordan... the feeling of not being wanted...once that starts ticking in the head.. then we feel everything is in action to prove it to us,
liked the explanation of the candle and screw driver :)
