Seventeen

Seventeen

A Poem by Tkess

In an evening of summer blue

As the light quietly declines,

Dreaming, I allow the cool breeze

To touch my bare skin.

Allow my thoughts to drift to you,

To love, to rest upon your naked smile.

I do not catch the words, the hills have whispered to the valley,

As my eyes catch the last ray of light

Slipping into the darkness.

If just in my head, your laughter, like champagne bubbles

Surrounding me; intoxicating.

Laughing at me, as I chase you down the rustic path,

As I am forever  following.

Seventeen, and we knew nothing of love or life

But, the wine never tasted so sweetly
