April

April

A Poem by Tkess

Colors running from the night

Where the dawn submits a losing fight

A lullaby of love we sing

The cool breeze kisses your breasts, O flower of flesh!

Mixing with the mind of all that’s left

Beautiful blooms arouse the spring

Breathing life within our soul

The green creeping up the knoll

Like the yellow of each flowering maiden dress’d

And when for evening e’er bound

And your lips, my ear have found

Your words, in my heart ne’er so well express’d

The rays of sun reflect in the stream

Sings every golden beam

‘neath the billows of captivating skies

The sun descends to the west

As the birds returning to their nests

And we offer nothing but a sigh
