Just don't play C5, Not TonightA Poem by Tkess
Mascara darkened eyes Through the flickering fluorescent lights Clouds paint the endless black sky The moon hangs like a nightwatchman Curious of your intentions As I hang like that necklace between your breasts Just a reminder of a past, long gone
I remember that song that you said was ours It carries a new meaning now As the sweet notes now burn a sour chorus There's a blue drizzle down the thin sheet glass storefront As my memories collect like the puddles outside
The buildings tumble like Stygian dominoes As the streets accumulate the fables of a thousand lost words Burned black like the asphalt beneath our feet The sun creeps up on me before I realize I've let my mind wonder a bit too far I hope it comes back before daybreak At least allow me a few hours of sleep
