On The Shoulders Of GiantsA Poem by Tkess
Beside yourself with broken mirrors Up the walls, a burning grey Broken lines; dropped calls See yourself a little clearer I know the face, just can’t place the name
Paper-thin palaces tumble and fall Like the words of some forgotten fool Deal me in for one more hand One eyed Jack’s my guide tonight
Burning bright through the night Keep your smile locked away The hills ringing in your ears The sounds resonate in our time
If you’re in need of inspiration The sky is where I turn my head The earth is full of broken stares And the wind cries with deleterious lies
This life is never where we left it The sum just doesn’t quite add up We all want to stand on the shoulders of giants But, it just leaves you cold and gasping for air © 2012 Tkess |
