Hero For A DayA Poem by Tkess
Entrenched with my enemy Hanging on the horns Do you see it there? My reminder
Because it is so easy to forget Battle tested battle armor The nicks and cuts do show my age But, I’m not too old to remember
Only broken when we bend Only happy when we’re hurt Only empty when we’re silent Never heal because we’re burnt
The battle never ends Because we won’t let it We cavort with our fears A black gallows moan Those scowling monsters The devil’s paladins
The hero is fleeing Flickering silence, For how long can you Wonder aimlessly Waiting for help to come? © 2011 Tkess |
