Damn-Nation

Damn-Nation

A Poem by Tkess

I sigh

As fools pretend to know

As wise men are bound and gagged

Where is this great humanity they speak of?

All I see are rivers of s**t

I wait for a sign

To tell me things will be alright

But they all point to hell

And no one cares

Complacency is the disease

They all cause

It’s spread through the streets

Through their words

I see the store doors close

I see the factory doors close

I feel the minds of the people close

And I shutter

At the thought of the collective wool

Once again being pulled down a little further

A little tighter

Like a noose
