Naked Souls in the Naked CityA Poem by Tkess
The sunset burns A psychedelic semblance Gasoline rainbows paint The sidewalks, an abstract canvas
The buildings silhouetted Against a transparent moon Paper thin clouds hang Like theater curtains on the city stage
A hobo opera with madmen monologues Play out in alleyway mise en scene Red light exhaust inhaling the glow Of the street from a hotel window
Naked souls in this naked city Beneath satin sheets and The cigarette smoke, which lingers In the air like our final words
