The Eyes of the CityA Poem by TkessCracked smiles peek out Beneath street light halos The hemorrhaging lights Spew into the avenues (Bleeding quiet; eerily quiet)
Neon lights flickering Like a Siren gently calling To a flesh-filled Eden, or A demon filled Hades (What’s the difference really?)
Booze filled harlequins Leaning out limousines With bunny ears and devil horns Starving for attention (Or maybe just a sandwich?)
Scrawled out alley ways And screaming subways, Open doorways, to where? No one knows (Except the old wino)
The eyes of the city Always following; always calling From the back alley to the high-rise They are always watching (But never forgiving; or forgetting) © 2011 TkessReviews
