Yesterday's News

A Poem by Tkess

The wind carries with it

Distant cries of a generation

These faint whispers of days past

As memories dance, in and out of time

A beautiful song played to an empty house

We are everything we despise

All that we love pushed aside

Trampled under foot, thrown to the wayside

Like yesterday's news, lament of time

Dawn will wake to carnage

Words drip with venom

Punctures on neck, unable to retract

Blood polluted with malevolent intent

Life is but a fleeting glimpse

Of time that we never truly comprehend

Until it has passed and we are left

With memories and vague recollections

well
i hope i can remember my life when it has passed
maybe as sort of a fond "look at the stupid stuff we did" etc.
the immediacy of existence does not leave much room for contemplation

thought provoking piece Tkess
