To Be YoungA Poem by Tkess
Gasoline rainbows Recede into the drain Like the lost innocence of youth We all grow up too fast Grow into these bodies that We really never feel comfortable in
Irony is the shackles of youth The great joke When we are young we have all the time in the world But no money When we are old we have all the money But no time
It is a cruel, cruel joke Is it not? To be constrained by a job By loans A car Responsibility, god How I hate that word
Unable to do the things we want to do Because of the air of responsibility Looming over our heads Like an ominous dark cloud
To be young again and not have a care To be young again and not worry Oh! To be young again © 2011 TkessReviews
