Forgotten days

Forgotten days

A Poem by Tkess

It was the calm after the storm

Fever rising to the tips of the branches

Severed moon on the ground

Listening to the languid snow

As it melts through existence

A juxtaposition of dream and reality

As the moments slip by

Carrying with them the hopes and fears

Of man, and a love that was left to die

When the day ends, I extinguish the fire

And set off to my bed

As Time crawls alone to perish in silence

Near the embers and harmonious wind

The moon will smile once more

With faux passion and seductive eyes

Until it is cut and left to suffer, beneath

The memories of a forgotten angel

And a love that is no more

It’s aberrant what we remember

And what we decide to push aside

The days still have things to discover

If we choose to stop and take the time

Even though it expresses the pain and loss extremely well..it has that glimmer of hope at the end...just simply stating "The days still have things to discover if we choose to stop and take the time".. to me that's a great hopeful statement..x

some excellent word choices set the mood for this dark and lovely poem. The first and third stanzas are quite stellar... especially love this line-- "As Time crawls along to perish in silence" well done! C.
