In The Inky-dark Velvet Night

In The Inky-dark Velvet Night

A Poem by Tkess

In the inky-dark velvet night.

The stars dreamlessly dance and whirl,

like a thousand cranes at Sasaki's feet.

To grant your wish eternally.

Behind a snow slick bedroom window

This unfolded origami night

Small flakes kissing away tiny bits of meaning

Until the morning steals it all from me

Skin so thin you can see black holes within.

Eyes so clear they light up the sky.

It all gives birth to a thousand suns

Deciding if there is one for me

There's something undoubtedly gentle about this poem, as if it's being told from a child's perspective...but it certainly is beautiful. Very dreamy. I love it.
