Life's FOUR basic requirments

Life's FOUR basic requirments

A Chapter by TitusjohnsonSr

Contrary to what we’ve been taught  or  learned,  Human Beings requires four (4) types of  nourishments in life  order to experience a sense  fulfillment.

(1)   The first of which is food. We  need healthy foods to nourish the body adequately. When this is accomplished our skin, bones, eyes, hair, teeth, etc. become  strong and healthy.

(2)  Second on the list is  food for the mind. Positive thoughts to help  nourish  the mind. When this  is accomplished we learn how to feel good  about self, life,  and other people and situations.  The opposite of positive thoughts that nourish the mind are Negative thoughts that deteriorates the mind.  Creating oppression misery and  gloom.

 (3)  Third  on the list is food  for the heart. This  one is a little more difficult, but when  accomplished we learn to give and receive  life’s greatest gift, LOVE. We learn to internalize truths until they become  powerful enough to give birth to feelings  and morality. We become overseers of self  and gain a sense of understanding and  consideration when interpreting the world around us.

(4)  Finally, yet most importantly, is  food for the soul. This particular  nourishment comes in the form of  spirituality. It is the most difficult of the four. However, when accomplished it fills that void inside of us that nothing else can fill. We  experience peace and fulfillment like  nothing else in the world.  Running from this truth causes Emptiness, Addictions, Rejection,  self-destruction and  confusion.  The side effects are much greater.

As we look across the war torn terrain we can see the remnants of moral, psychological, spiritual and emotional warfare.  We see those who have lost in the war of mind.  They are the ones without a sense of direction who have no identity and fail to comprehend reality.  Totally unpredictable they can be easily recruited to fight any of the other wars.  The crimes they are capable of committing are unimaginable.  Next are those who’ve lost the war or morality.  They are recognized by how they receive happiness from feeding off others.  They commit deviant sexual acts and can be seen selling the orphaned children of those who died in war.  They steal and sell without any regard to who is being affected.  They prefer using and peddling heavy narcotics because it’s one of the most powerful  weapons used in the fight against morality.  The commander and chief of their narcotic infantry is addiction.

The war that seems to be waged the hardest is the war of emotions.  For some reason there are pockets of heavy resistance all across the land.  At times it’s difficult to determine who’s actually winning this war.  Sometimes you can see people caring for the hurt and wounded, and other times you can witness people stepping over and completely ignoring the hurt and wounded.  Nevertheless, you can still recognize those who’ve lost the battle for emotions.  They show no feelings and refuse to commit to anyone.  Cold blooded and heartless are the common names for them.  No longer capable of love or affection the relationships they involve themselves with are governed by sex, competition and money.  They are very good fighters on the emotional battlefield because they never become attached to their mate, and can leave them behind without regard.  Be it so, they are like time bombs because they never learn to love or care for (themselves) so the only alternative is self-destruction.  Unfortunately, emotionalism is one of the greatest individual wars ever waged.  Losing on this front brings man as close as he’ll ever come to being the  walking dead.

Another fight on the horizon is the battle of spirituality.  This is a peculiar type of war because it’s one that’s invisible to the naked eye.  It’s only possible to recognize those who have won or loss according to individual behavior.  Most notably are the ones who’re losing this war.  We recognize them as those individuals who are incapable of reaching a state of internal peace and tranquility.  They are never content or satisfied with anything.  They can be healthy millionaires with beautiful  healthy children, a loving and caring wifehusband; but are still unhappy.  A lot of them simply tire of fighting this kind of war and AWOL by committing suicide.  Those who continue to fight without knowing how to fight experience and internal emptiness that is incapable of being filled with anything in the material world.  Most succumb to alcohol and become alcoholics because it’s known to -Lift the Spirits- by causing a person to act other than themselves.  It’s no wonder why alcoholic drinks are known to be called spirits.  In the end, those who go through life spiritually defeated will always feel as though in spite of having everything they need, there is still something missing.  This is the greatest loss of all, because our spirituality connects us to life’s vitality.

I have enjoyed the direction of your thinking as I am interested in this same sort of thing. It would be good if you could more explicitly identify the various "foods" for each of these categories: 1. the body; the mind; the heart; and the soul. It would be very helpful to know the difference between each of the last three. I was always understanding the soul to be "mind, emotions, and will" while the "heart" is that ground or central principle that directly influences all the rest. Isn't there a "spirit" as well? Most theologians divide the human into either body and soul or body, soul, and spirit. You mention the spiritual but not the spirit.

I think you are on a good track and I would encourage you to continue thinking this through and researching. If you would like to correspond I will do my best to answer you.

(Contrary to what we’ve been taught or learned?) I don't find anything here new or revolutionary to what I've heard or learned in the past? Street and prison huh? Hmm?
