Lost

What happened to that sparkle?

It shone among the books

among the toys

among the lights

within your eyes

within our glasses

but now the dying remnants have begun to fade away

because it started with your silence

and it ended with my tears

with my dreams

with our fights

just a key

just one key

now it’s gone like the thieves on their midnight getaway.

 

What happened to that fire

burning in our endless summer?

It’s still here among the ashes

in the broken toys and glasses

in the remnants of the ruined city

I once knew as love.
