You're Looking for Gold

You're Looking for Gold

A Poem by TisWit

Sex is cheap. It's not what you're looking for.

Now let's be clear: you enjoy sex as

much as the next guy and it's great

while it lasts, but you're sick of the after. The awkward

“That was fun...” and the unspoken

“Now get the hell out of my apartment!”

There has to be something more than the forced

cuddle, generic small talk, and the restless night

that follows realizing

even though a person is

right next to you, no one is with you. This No

One may be Someone to another but She'll

never be to you. Your Someone is cuddled up

with Her pillow across town, or, worse yet, She's

pressed against some d********g who only

has taste for cheap activity. You should in his place,

but you never will:

you managed to miss the moment before it became golden.
