Rain

Rain

A Poem by Tiffany Elise

Walk in the rain,

to hide the pain,

to hide the tears,

the hide the fears,

I walk in the rain,

to hide the vain,

to hide the trauma,

to hide the drama,

The water pouring down my face,

all seems like it comes from the very same place,

the up above, the cloudy sky,

but if I said that's right it would be a lie.

Some of the rain falls from my eyes,

Broken promises, and failed tries,

Fallen angels, broken wings,

Fractured but not broken heart it seems.

The rain has stopped and tears stream,

now it is nothing but tears it seems,

Now you can tell, that I've cried,

I bet you can see through my broken dreams

Tears are able to blend in with the rain as the drops hit your face, but rain helps shield us and cover up our revealed emotions, crying for instance. When a person cries in the rain, you normally can't tell if their tears are actual tears or just raindrops. That's the beauty of rain, it can heal us and help us open up to it so it can understand us. It takes us to a better place and makes us feel a bit better about ourselves.
