The Rain

The Rain

A Poem by Tiffany Elise
"

I wish it all worked this way

"

I’m walking through the rain,

Because no one can tell I’m crying,

Because no one can tell I’m in pain,

Or that I feel like dying.

Been way too strong,

Holding back tears,

For way too long,

Filled with pointless fears.

The rain soaks my hair,

And washes away my soul,

It gives me an impossible dare,

To keep myself sane and whole.

I don’t think I can,

But I’ll at least try,

My suffering began,

By wondering why.

I guess it completes the circle,

Because I wonder that now,

So I’m back to the start,

But I don’t know how.

A superior lot save for the final stanza; probably above the heads of the majority of this site's users (and judging by your "author's note," perhaps even your own).
