Empty PromisesA Poem by Tiffany EliseWe've all had someone give us one of these at a point in our lives. You promised me the world, You promised me your tears, You promised me your blood, You promised me your fears.
You said all of these beutiful things, That you really didn't mean, Do my feelings mean anything to you? Do you think the slate is clean?
Well news for you, I'll forgive but I wont forget, You think that I made the wrong choice, Then how come I haven't had One regret?
You live life like a game, Then you sucked me in, You told me your rules, And thought that you'd win.
Well I'm playing your game, and I'm twisting your rules, I'm so close to victory, I'm not like the other fools.
I know what I'm dealing with, I've played this game before, But now I know the tricks, I'd never loose again, to myself I swore.
