Breath

Breath

A Poem by TiredHazels

She has many Wounds
Not all have healed
Despite the Weakness at times she portrays
She finds some Kind of Strength to Keep Moving On
Looking Deeply as Herself
Her Eyes Tired and Lost
The Face of Someone she used to Know
But now a Stranger in the Mirror
Hands over Her Heart
Not the Steady Beat it once was
Always fighting herself
With the Demons she has Come Across
Lost with No Direction

She Came Across a Week
Tears and Silence is All there was now to be
Slowly on
A Brush of Warmth Lingered Thru
Dancing on her Fingertips
Surrounding Her Lips
Eyes Now Filled With Warmth
Now knowing who she sees

Comfortable but Scared
Not wanting to Loose Herself Again
Having the Last Ounce of Faith
Of a New Beginning
An accidental Happiness
That she wants to last
Never wanting to feel Cold Again

Then a night ago
Counting the Stars She Had Wished on
Realizing the Smallest Sparkle
Gleaming oh so brightly
Showered her her Only Wish
Now Always Seeing that Same Sparkle
In His Eyes Alone
And knowing that it’s Okay
And to be Able to Freely Breath.

Now this is a solid write!
Fluid and flowing like the
mightiest of rapids.
Wonderfully written...
