Tryston walked up to yet another corpse that used to be one of their own people. It's lower half was torn off and the upper was trying to crawl to its next victim. He brought his boot down on its back and forced his machete through its skull.

"Any specific instructions on the dead?"

"Bury our people, burn the rest." He said, trying to keep his composure. The man nodded and ran to complete his job. Tryston looked around at what used to be their home. Now the dead littered the ground and blood scattered the tents and trees. He wasn't sure how many he lost, but he knew it was a lot. The camp could be saved, but what's the point, these people came in here like it was nothing. He saw Jean coming out of the medical tent, a rag was being held to her cheek and a bandage covered the bridge of her nose and another one on her left eyebrow. "Are you alright?" He asked, checking the girls wounds.

"I'll live, but I have some really bad news."

"What happened?"

"The people who came here, they took Addy and Veda."

"What?" He asked outraged. Not only were his people murdered, but his friends were taken. He couldn't help but feel horrible. He had been in charge for just a few days and things have already gone to s**t since the loss of Iris. "I don't know what to do Jean. I can't lead or protect these people."

"You'll find a way." She comforted the man that she cared for. "If anyone can do it, it's gonna be you."

"Thanks Jean, that means a lot. I'm gonna have to go after them."

"You can't, your the leader now, we need you here."

"Iris went out on supply runs. She went out for Veda, a woman who hated her guts. She got s**t done and was in the fire with her people."

"Yeah, and look what happened to her. That can't happen to you. I can't lose someone else I care about."

"So you do care about me." Tryston said, trying to hide the happiness that brought him, despite his surroundings.

"Of course I do." She said. More than you know. She shook her head at that thought. "Besides, we don't even know where to start looking."

"I'll go." Finn said, walking up to them.

"You can't go alone." Tryston stated the obvious.

"I'm better alone, besides, I've lost Veda many times before, this should be a piece of cake."

"Fine, but take one of the armored cars and keep the radio on at all times. Understood."

"Yeah."

"And be careful." Tryston said before hugging him and helping clean up the place.

"Why are you really going alone?" Jean asked when Tryston was out of earshot.

"I can't stop thinking about Iris being out there. She's one of those things, and it's killing me. I need to find her and do the right thing. This ones on me."

"I understand. Just don't do anything stupid and keep me informed on any clues that you get on where these people might have taken Veda and Addy."

"Will do."

Veda woke up, this time on a cold metal table and tubes of blood with needles sticking out of her arms. She looked around and noticed that it was a white tile room. She heard screaming coming from a little ways away and it sent chills down her spine. She also heard a voice coming from under her, but couldn't make out who it was. For the first time in days, she felt strong. She was about to get free, but she heard a beep coming from the door and stopped moving entirely before shutting her eyes. "We can't lose patient zero." A woman's voice  said calmly. It sounded very familiar to Veda, but she wasn't going to open her eyes. "She's the best chance we have at our project. How's patient ninety five?"

"She fought back so we sent her to the dungeon."

"I told you not to hurt her."

"She had it coming ma'am."

The woman took a deep breath. "And how is this one doing. Have you given her any dosage yet?"

"Not yet, we are still studying her blood before we do it. I want to make sure it won't kill her. I'm tired of cleaning up the mess." The man said. Veda could feel a needle come out of her right arm and did her best not to move. "I'll get some of ninety five's blood and see what that does to her."

"Sounds good, just be careful with her this time."

"Why do you care so much for that one?" He asked.

"She's my daughter." The woman said before walking out of the room. Veda got up as soon as she knew she was alone and carefully pulled the remaining needles out. She found that the floors were freezing on her bare feet. The door hadn't been locked so she opened it and noticed that the hallway matched her room. It was all very creepy to the brunette. She noticed that the doors that she passed were all numbered and she noticed that 95 was right next to hers. She looked through the window and saw that it had been empty, they must still have her downstairs. She kept making her way down the long hallway, ready in case she ran into someone.

As soon as she turned a corner she saw a man dragging a girl who looked worse for wear. Her arm was around his shoulder, she couldn't fight even if she tried, but her head was down and her hair was covering her face. The man caught sight of Veda and took out his gun, aiming it at her. The girl took notice of who Veda was and brought her weight down on the mans arm that was holding the gun as he pulled the trigger, just grazing Veda's bicep. "F**k!" She shouted out.

The mystery woman grabbed the gun from the ground and shot the man in the head before dropping it, feeling weak. Veda ran over to her savoir and rolled her onto her back and saw bright blue eyes that she didn't know she missed so much until know. "Iris?"

"Hey weirdo." Was all she could muster up.

"Come on, lets get you out of here. Do you know where Addy is?" She asked as she got Iris up.

"She's not Addy anymore."

"What do you mean?"

Iris was about to explain before she looked ahead and saw a very familiar woman standing in the middle of a few men holding guns in their direction. "Mom?" She grabbed the gun that Veda was holding and pointed it at her. "Why would you do this to me!" She shouted, trying to act strong.

"It's for the greater good honey."

"F**k you!"

"Where's Addy!" Veda shouted. Another gunshot echoed the hallway as Iris went down, the bullet just grazed it. "Iris!" She shouted before looking at her attacker. "Addy?" Was all she could say before she felt a pain in her thigh. She looked down and saw a bullet hole. Did Addy really just shoot me and Iris? She thought before falling to the ground.

"Take them down in the dungeon. Leave them a med kit, they can stitch themselves up." The woman ordered.

The last thing Veda saw was Iris being dragged away, leaving a trail of blood in her tracks and then felt a pulling on her arms before passing out.
