Revenge

Revenge

A Chapter by TinyWriter

The man screamed out yet again, feeling the large blade cut across his bare torso for the hundredth time. Fresh hot blood dripped down the old stains. "Stop this! Please!" He pleaded, trying to get his wrists free of the rope and chain.

Veda looked over at Finn who was the one cutting. "You knew what would happen. There are rules set in place for a reason. Never cross me or Finn, there are no exceptions. You attempted to steal from me and the only defense you could come up with is you thought you wouldn't get caught?" She asked disgusted at the man.

"It won't happen again! I swear!"

"I wish I could believe you, but I can't." She thought of a way to punish him. All eyes were on her. She got up and aimed her gun at the man, sending a bullet in each leg. He screamed yet again, this time, on the edge of passing out. "Strip him of the rest of his clothes than take him out back and feed him to the corpses."

Finn hated this side of Veda, the side that had to prove herself over and over again to show people who was in charge. But he put up with it because he had too. They both did. He nodded as he cut the ropes and unlocked the chain around the mans abdomen.

She heard commotion coming from outside, followed by the large door opening up. She made her way to the group of men that had a few large packs filled up. What took her off guard was a body being held by the underarms and a bag over her head. "You have got to be f*****g kidding me!" She shouted. "No prisoners. Ever!"

"This isn't just a prisoner. She is a threat."

"Who shot first."

"We did, but-"

"Stop talking." She silenced him. "Why did you bring her?"

"She's the leader of the group we attacked."

"And why does that matter?"

"A few people got away, figured she would be good to have around in case they retaliate."

"You are a dumb a*s. Get out of my f*****g face." The man looked down before walking off. Leaving only the two people holding the girl, who seemed to be unconscious. "How bad is she wounded?"

"Gun shot through the shoulder and some minor bruises."

She took a deep breath and removed the bag, her knees grew weak and it felt as if her heart stopped. She looked at the girl she once called hers. "Iris?"

"What do you mean she's missing!" Jean shouted while she was bandaging up B's leg.

"The raiders, they took her. I don't know where." Tryston said, trying to stay calm.

"And you didn't think to follow them?"

"I was following orders, just like any one of you would if you were in my position."

"What the hell are we gonna do without Iris? When people find out-"

"They won't." B interrupted.

"And how do you know that?"

"Because we are gonna get her back."

Veda was tapping her pencil against the wooden desk, trying to process what just happened. She would look at Iris' dog tag from time to time, but couldn't look for too long. She was interrupted when Finn burst through the door. "It's done."

"What is?"

"The traitor?"

"Oh... Right."

"Are you okay? You look a little pale. Seen a ghost around?" He joked. When he got a serious look from Veda, he grew a little nervous. "What did I miss?"

"We have a problem."

Iris woke up to a throbbing pain in her shoulder. She looked to see that it was bandaged up and took in her surroundings. The room was very well lite. Whoever these people are, they're lucky to still have electricity. Her people were living like cave men. She was startled when she saw the door open and jumped up, ready to attack. But all of her adrenaline left when she saw who it was. "Anya?" She asked shocked as she ran up to hug her.

"Hi Iris."

"What are you doing here?"

"I was out exploring then I found this place. They caught me before I could get back to camp."

"You didn't tell them where we were located did you sweety?"

"No. Just like you said. I told them that I was lost."

"Good. Hey, I need you to do me a favor."

"Anything."

"You are obviously good at getting out of places unnoticed. I need you to sneak out of here and go back to our camp. Let them know where I am. Can you be my little messenger?" The girl nodded with excitement. "Good. Leave the door unlocked."

Iris looked around and noticed a surgical knife on the table next to the bed. It was small, but she knew the human body and the nerves and pressure points. She would have to be quick and stealthy. She grabbed it and opened the door slowly. She was in a hallway that was a little darker than her room. She was at the very end so there was only one way to go which she was thankful for.

After making it to the bottom floor, not running into any threats, she opened the door and swore she just walked onto the Las Vegas Strip. "What the hell?" It was busy. 'If I blend in, Maybe they won't notice.' She pocketed the knife and started walking. She wasn't sure where the exit was, but she would find it eventually. Wherever she was, these people did not look friendly. She was walking for a few minutes before she found the back exit, but stopped in her tracks. 'This place has to be run by someone'. She thought. These people killed three of her people, including her sister. The very thought made her want to break, but she couldn't. Not now. She couldn't let this place stand. 'If you take out the leader, than they have nothing.' She turned around and went into one of the markets. They were definitely stocked up.

She was stopped by some woman. "Did you see what happened to Danny?"

Iris cleared her throat, dehydration was kicking in. "No I was asleep. What happened?"

"I'm surprised you could sleep at all with the screams. The boss hung him up and made an example out of him."

"Where is he?"

"Who?"

"The boss."

"What do you mean he? The boss is a woman."

'S**t. S**t. S**t. S**t. Cover blown you dumb a*s.'

"Wait a minute, come to think about it, I've never seen you around here. You're the intruder... Help! She's escaped!" The woman screamed at the top of her lungs.

Iris cupped the girls mouth, but was grabbed by the back of the neck and thrown out of the store. A few men surrounding her. "Alright, now this seems a tad bit much doesn't it?" She asked. There were three men that looked like they wanted nothing more than to kill her. She saw the man that shot her sister and took the little knife out before pointing at him. "You're first." She said with confidence, still earning a chuckle out of the men. The one to the far right charged first, but was brought down hard when she moved her palm upward towards the mans nose, sending him to his knees. She followed up with a round house kick to the side of his face, knocking him out. She was glad B taught her how to fight, no matter how basic.

The other two came at her, the man to the left threw a right hook, and missed, just grazing her nose as she moved back. She didn't see the other mans leg and he kicked her rib cage. It took her off guard and brought her down to the ground, covering her face from the kicks they were giving her. If this was the end, she was taking that b*****d with her. She peeked through and saw the familiar man, grabbing his leg and twisting it until she heard a satisfying crack. He went to the ground as Iris took out the knife and stabbed the other attacker in the thigh. After he was down, she crawled on top of the large man. "This is for my sister you son of a b***h." She said before stabbing the man in the eye over and over again. Blood splattered across her face, she couldn't stop. He lyed there dead on the floor as she continued.

"Enough!" A woman's voice boomed. "What is going on?" She shoved the crowd away to see Iris on top of one of her men an two others on the ground unconscious.

Iris finally looked at the figure and tears filled her eyes to the brim. "Veda?" Was all she could say before being hit in the back of the head and blacking out.
