Mr. Space Man

Mr. Space Man

A Poem by TinyTayAnn

Oh Mr. Space Man, my astonaught

Catching my dreams in the atmosphere

You're the true dreamer, you my love, you are

Floating among the stars and circling the moon

You were never a man of this world so I have to watch you from the ground

I don't care, I don't fear, the Earth was always for me, I'm grounded here

Sometimes I cry when you're not near

The left side of the bed, cold and desolate

But I remember your words, I recite them back to me:

I am the Space Man, I am your Lover

I love neither more than the other.

Keep your chin high,

Cast your eyes to the sky,

And never replace me with another.

Oh my poor Lover, you've been gone so long

My cravings go unanswered, unsatisfied

I have choosen another

He kissed my lips so

And held me tight

I didn't want him to let go

I feel so ashamed

(I am all to blame)

But you float among the stars

And circle the moon

While I am grounded to the Earth,

My mine and my lover's platoon
