Secrets & Promises

Secrets & Promises

A Poem by TinyTayAnn

If your Promise is a Secret,

To whom is it kept?

Between you and one other,

A Secret of you and another,

And between you it is Promised to.

But you see, a personal Promise is hard to be kept,

(Trust me,

I've tried,

And I've cried,

And I've wept).

But at what point does the Secret hurt?

Making the Promise something you want to burry in the dirt?

When the Secret blurrs the Promise,

And you can no longer see why it was kept,

Then you know it was the Promise the Secret over-stepped.

The idea makes perfect sense in my head because it's my direct feeling, but does it make sense out loud?

It holds great pearls of wisdom...maybe there are some secrets we cannot keep...away.
