Dare I?

Three little words. That's all she had to say, all she wanted to say, and all she wanted to hear. But she couldn't find the courage to say them.

Curl up and hide,

Seek shelter inside,

Away from the world

And the fear unfurled.

Or stand up and tall

And risk the fall.

Jump before I look

Like this was a book.

Do I dare speak

Even one little peep,

Or turn and never dare

to say the words I want to hear?
