Beneath The Moon

Beneath The Moon

A Poem by Tina Kline

It was at the height of the full moon
Naked branches rattled in a harsh wind
The air held a certain haunting doom
Stimulating as it gusted again and again

A shadow moved through the concealing dark
Casting a cursory look all around
From the distance came a frightening bark
Then there came not a single sound

She had a powerful affinity with the night
It was a time that was fertile with possibilities
And the shifting shadow that hid from the night
Promised the powerful gift of immortality

For her he had a lingering empathy
This one he would make his own
Nothing contrived here, in his heart honesty
He would give to her all that he had been shown

She was reborn in night's gentle embrace
He was there waiting, no longer just a shadow
The moon shone down on them without any trace
Her new dark reality through time would echo

Oooh, I like this. Dark and romantic, very mysterious and surreal. Nicely written too. It flows like music.

Fantastic. Dark and romantic. A vampire poem done well without having to say vampire in it. Nicely done.

What a powerful journey through the darkness and shadows, cast by the light of the full moon's haunting shine. This feels so mysterious and deep, pulling the reader beyond the pale veil of night...

This makes me think of vampires without actually saying the word itself. I love all thing paranormal and this is a great write. A bit mysterious which always draws a reader in making them read on. The details are strong
