My Country HomeA Poem by Tina KlineFor the creative writing group. Words used: serenity, extension, orbit, remoteness, inclination, intrigue, palpable. The setting sun creates a gentle stillness Serenity spreads across the landscape Long evening shadows create extensions of tree limbs They slowly creep across my uncut lawn As soon as I turn on my porch light Small white moths start to orbit around it They look like so many spinning moons I like the remoteness of my country home I have no inclination at all for city life Too much terrible crime and political intrigue there In this country home of mine life is palpable Here life is peaceful and so very alive © 2011 Tina Kline |
