My Country Home

My Country Home

A Poem by Tina Kline
"

For the creative writing group. Words used: serenity, extension, orbit, remoteness, inclination, intrigue, palpable.

"

The setting sun creates a gentle stillness
Serenity spreads across the landscape
Long evening shadows create extensions of tree limbs
They slowly creep across my uncut lawn
As soon as I turn on my porch light
Small white moths start to orbit around it
They look like so many spinning moons
I like the remoteness of my country home
I have no inclination at all for city life
Too much terrible crime and political intrigue there
In this country home of mine life is palpable
Here life is peaceful and so very alive

Nothing like being at one with nature to counter the craziness of life... I felt at ease just reading this.

Love this. Nothing like a home in the countryside with bird song, coyotes and foxes as the sounds you hear, not nightmarish neighbors! Outstanding use of the words.

Lovely...what a beautiful life you describe. And wonderful use of the given words as well. :) Fascinating how we all come up with a different take on the same words :)
