Sunset Dreams

Sunset Dreams

A Poem by Tina Kline

Splashing fire spread out on the water
As the molten orange orb slowly sets
Flames dance across its wet surface
While overhead the seagulls circle and fret

Somewhere on this expanse of fiery water
I set loose my dreams long ago
With restless yearning I watched them leave
Years later I now wonder where did they go?

How your write makes me think of my own "Sunset Dreams", and that which might have been. We often have to wade through life with unmet expectations and wait for a new sun to rise to set dreams afloat!
Your words with the exquisite image are quite touching!

Our dreams sure do seem to wander off and we hardly notice until years later. Lovely poem with a touch of bittersweet truth.

A very poetic and a bit sad poem. I really love the imagery in this, very creative. Our dreams do seem to fade with time sometimes.

Beautiful with such a sad ending, dreams can be lost and when they are life goes on, I know this too. Hope we can find some new dreams that don't fizzle. An excellent write.

This is very beautiful and a tad bit sad. The theme is so true. We do often look back and wonder what ever happened to our dreams. Awesome poem!
