Like it's ready to pounce-- kinda eerie. I'd like to offer briefly how this senryu made feel-- like a person who has been dormant then something happens where they feel awake and then they are feeling ready to do some serious buisness on the town and it's coming soon you know like the horizen is the near future-- and like the name of the town "Portland" is going to do just that be an import town for some major stuff. So you got this person plotting looking at the city. You know with all the power of a volcanoe inside of them. You know like feeling really alive and awake. Just thought I'd share how the poem moved me. Excellent use of the senryu form.

I love the picture and the fragment...They complete each other so well! its peaceful and preparing for danger in the same time...Volcano is a symbol, connected with fire and old believes...

I remember watching Mt St Helens erupting when I was a kid in Idaho... it was an amazing spectacle despite the devastation it brings.
