Creature Of Death

Creature Of Death

A Poem by Tina Kline

Rising from man’s waste painting the oceans black

A sea creature mutated, fresh water it must track

Three stories high, black with slimy rotting flesh

Void of eyes, its mouth with cruel fangs that mesh

It can sense water that will ease its decay

Its desire for mankind’s death will bleed us tombstone grey

It reaches the shore and so begins man’s black death

It begins crushing skulls and siphoning our liquid breath

Bodies become dry empty husks, flesh clinging to bone

Mankind strikes back, black waste flows with each hole blown

But the creature still stands and can never die

It lets out an unearthly and haunting death cry

Self healing every wound its slimy body begins to ooze

Mankind begins to panic on a battle they will lose

As water fills inside your throat above you it will tower

Drinking you to blood and bone it regains its power

A black mass forms into the waves to survive swim to the shore

Before it opens its corroded mouth and closes upon you like a door

The water becomes a pit of hell with black slime instead of fire

It must drain you to stay alive like blood to a vampire

It oozes up upon your back slime dripping in your hair

A sea creature mutated turning the ocean into a black watery nightmare

Too late now to swim soon there will be nothing left to save

Only a half eaten corpse sinking into a dark slimy grave

The stink rises in dark spirals of extremely thick toxic air

Flies buzz and swarm so thickly, the smell of death drawing them there

The creature heaves and shifts exposing the bones of its many human victims

Then the bones sink back below the ocean’s slimy putrid surface again

The creature sucks into its fanged slimy mouth more humans to eat

Human kind fears for its existence and they start to retreat

The creature splits into two, then into three, then it splits into four

Self procreating into little sea creatures of black slimy rotting horror

They trap humans in their rotting slime and suck out their blood to survive

With this tasty protein diet they quickly increase in their size

Human kind faces the reality of their extinction for the very first time

Soon no living humans will the sea creatures be able to find

Only hollow shells of buildings and rotting corpses are left behind

The promise of mankind’s advancement is now blackened, dead, blind

I think this turned out great, very horrific. Creative pens blended together. It was fun creating my part and seeing how the final piece turned out, I think it turned out very well.

Cool Artwork by Ghost and the poem is very eerie, gruesome and vivid. Awesome three way collaboration. This could be made into a story, I think.
