Incubus Dreams

Incubus Dreams

A Poem by Tina Kline

During the diurnal* dark period

         I slumber in the shadows

In an open air house

         In Rio de Janeiro

Warm night nautical breezes

         Drift about my coffin

Salty ocean perfume

         Waking me

From the sleep of the dead

    I rise

         Sea faring vampire

In a white gossamer gown

         Clinging to my slim body

As I drift out onto the ivory crushed

                 Seashell sand

Waiting for my nomad

         My aquatic lover

To rise from the dark green

         Latin American ocean waters

To embrace me

         To make love to me

Beneath the blood red moon

         To breathe life into me

To give me his crimson seed

         To grow in my womb

I shiver in anticipation

                                As I wait

Emerald waters part

         My god - My lover

Rises - Surreal

         Into my arms

Ecstasy

         My Water Demon

My incubus dream

         In this isolation

In this concealment

         Somewhere in Rio de Janeiro

I learned how to live

Having read many books on the nature of evil through history, Your poem ressembles the writings of sixteenth century romantic authors. These people were burned at the stake for their writings. Your poem has the same feel to it. It reads liem a prose almost. Loved it

A dreamy, sensual and exotic vampire poem. Nice pen on this one.

You create a deep, rich mood with your colors, vivid imagery, and carefully chosen descriptions. This was such a beautifully dark write.

This is a sultry and erotic vampire tale. Very different than most vamp tales. Your words chosen for this creates quite the steamy exotic landscape for this story to play out upon. Outstanding!
