In Celebration Of Trees

In Celebration Of Trees

A Poem by Tina Kline

So many trees all around

green leafy branches reaching high

hear the soft soothing rustle

as if they brush against the blue sky

I wander here in this shady place

from the harsh sun I desire to stay free

a refreshing cool breeze teases and plays

so spectacular is this endless forest of trees

Through this lush forest I continue to walk

I marvel at the so many different green shades

bird song and the soft sighing of leaves

this place so beautiful only God could have made

I want these trees to never come to an end

I want to wander here for an eternity

To hear the birds sing and the leaves to rustle

To experience forever the magic of this wild mystery

This is definitely a beautiful depiction of trees. It gives them enough character to make them stand out amidst their towering glory.

I enjoyed the quatrains and the rhyme very much.

One small thing I want to bring up is, "I marvel at the so many" - there is no need for "the" here...it comes across as bad English to me :)

Nicely done.

This was amazing. I absolutely love trees and to read a poem about them is just astounding. I, too, have written about a tree. It was about how their destiny is coming to fall but I don't want them to. :) Great write. It was astounding!

This is a nice comforting nature poem. Under more favorable weather conditions it would have inspired me to go for a walk.

I particularly liked the line "hear the soft soothing rustle / as if they brush against the blue sky." This is an unusual break for me, since I tend to appreciate metaphors more than similes. A potential stronger phrasing would be to eliminate the word "if" from the last line of the first stanza.

There's nothing else like a cool, green forest, and you obviously spend time there or you wouldn't describe it so well. Makes me want to be in one right now.
