Chapter 12

Chapter 12

A Chapter by Tina Kline
"

A threat is made against Louise.

"

Some time went by since the birth of my Wolf Child, my Wolf Boy as I thought of him. I kept track of time passing by using sleep cycles but I was sure it wasn't all that accurate, but it did help me keep track of some sort of passing of time in this Wolf People world.

And my world had completely changed. I had a Wolf Son. And his birth had been so easy compared to what I had feared. Feared despite what I had been repeatedly told.

It was almost like a non-event. Except that non-event had given me this Wolf Child.

I had become a very protective she-wolf. And Mr. Black a very protective...what ever he was.

I was ready to kill any Wolf Person who got too close. It would be 'off with their heads' with a sword.

I discovered Mr. Black had several swords. Out they came from wherever he had them stored right after his son was born.

"Who is threatening us?" I asked the second sleep cycle after our son came into this world.

He stood in the bedroom doorway, a long sword in his hand while I nursed our son.

"I'm being careful, alert, my sweet."

"Are you worried about Dawn's Fans? They'll come after me, not our Wolf Child. I'm sure you know that."

Mr. Black growled deep in his chest, showing his canine teeth. He raised the sword and brought it back down in a vicious looking swipe, cutting the air with it. "That will be their fate."

I laughed; delighted he said he would kill for me. "I love you!" I blurted out. Then froze! Feeling cold and hot at the same time! I couldn't believe I said that! I never thought that!

I felt horribly embarrassed as I watched a very surprised Mr. Black slowly lower his sword to his side.

A very pleased and delighted smile spread across his face.

I looked away. Then I looked down at our son.

"Well! Well! Well! My sweet Louise! How pleased I am to hear you say that!" He walked toward the bed.

"It was just in the spur of the moment, you know." I felt terribly nervous and my face felt hot with embarrassment. I was sure it was bright red, which only made me more embarrassed. Which made me feel hotter and redder with shame.

He sat on the bed. "You know I'd protect you and our son with my life."

I wanted to squirm. How could I have said such a thing?

"The Pack Leader and his mate will be by soon to see the new addition to the Pack." Mr. Black said.

I looked up at him, anxious all of a sudden. I held our son tighter to me in protection.

"You will be there. And when he's introduced to the Pack as well."

    "I won't be left out?"

"Never again, my sweet plaything. Never again." He leaned forward and kissed me on the forehead.

Then he pulled back and tilted his head like he heard something.

    "What?" I asked.

Mr. Black jumped off the bed and dashed out of the bedroom. I heard him go outside.

"Mommy loves you." I cooed to my son. "Why does daddy need a sword to fight? All he needs to do is turn into a Big Bad Wolf!"

But I knew why. A sword would make a quick kill, no struggle, and no risk of hurt to himself. A quick, clean slice, 'off with the head!' and it was done.

I glanced toward the bedroom window. It was a clear, icy night outside. The silver blue moon cast a brilliant silvery blue splash over the snow draped world out there.

Soon Mr. Black and I would name our Wolf Child. He had dark hair like his father and silver blue eyes. I kissed him on the cheek.

He was done nursing and I wrapped him in a blanket made from elk hide and made him cozy on the bed. Then I got up to see what Mr. Black was doing. I could hear voices outside the house.

It sounded like an argument and that made me nervous. Was something or someone threatening?

I went to the door and opened it. Mr. Black was around the corner of the house having a heated conversation with someone.

"Leave. Don't come any where near my home or family again!"

I heard the swish as he cut the frozen air with his sword emphasizing his order!

    Female laughter then.

Mr. Black growled a chilling lethal growl. "If you refuse to get my meaning I can demonstrate with a live demonstration."

    "Would you?"

I couldn't believe it! It was Red Eyes' voice!

I felt the Wolf in me come to the surface. I felt the rumble in my chest that became a growl.

I wanted to shape shift into my Wolf Form, leap out the door and kill Red Eyes and Silver Eyes. I knew they were both out there with Cedar and Miss Clover!

How dare they? Death to them! I thought!

    But I couldn't. I wouldn't leave our son unprotected.

I headed back to the bedroom and that was when I knew Cedar was outside the bedroom window. And she was trying to open it!

I screamed! Then I was Wolf without realizing it! I crashed through the window and landed outside on the snow.

I howled and snarled, standing face to face with Cedar who was still in her human form.

I leaped at her before she had a chance to Shape Shift, my jaws snapping closed at the base of her throat where it met her neck.

Hot blood pumped into my mouth and I ripped.

   Cedar screamed.

I chewed, bit and tore at her neck. I was determined to rip her head from her body and kill her that way. Decapitation with my canines!

Then it seemed everyone in the whole village was surrounding us. I kept at Cedar, working to chew her head off and kill her, until I felt someone pulling me off.

I fought to get loose from their hold. This one had threatened my child and death would be the price she'd pay. I lunged at her again, making screaming and growling sounds.

Mr. Black was there. Pulling me off my victim. I didn't want to stop fighting! I didn't want to stop in my killing of her!

Mr. Black dragged me through the now blood stained snow.

"They came to do harm to my mate and Wolf Child!"  Mr. Black yelled in his outrage.

He let me go and I saw he had the sword in his hand, ready to use!

I stood in the blood stained snow growling. I would let him do this. Cut off Cedar's head. And Red Eyes, Silver Eyes and Miss Clover. They were all in this plot to get at Mr. Black's and my son. They all deserved to be be-headed.

I could easily tell no one was in our house right now; no one was near my Wolf Child. I had my senses wide open; even in the midst of my fight with Cedar I would have been able to tell if there was a threat to my Wolf Child.

The Pack Leader stepped forward. "We will have a hearing and the whole Pack will decide the fates of Cedar, Miss Ivy, Morning and Miss Clover."

Talking excitedly everyone slowly went back to his or her homes. I watched as the Dawn Fan Club were taken away.

Then I leaped back through the bedroom window and shape shifted back to my Human Form. I gathered up my sleeping Wolf Child into my arms and sat on the bed rocking him.

I growled softly. They will die! I'd kill them myself before I let them be exiled only to come back and try again.

I wondered if Dawn was out there somewhere. Had she been watching this the whole time?

Then Mr. Black was sitting on the bed beside me. He pulled me into his arms, holding our son and myself to him.

"They won't get away with this, will they, like Dawn did?" I asked him.

"No they won't. I will track them myself if they are only exiled and decapitate them all. Dawn included."

    "Promise?"

"Of course my sweet Louise. They're already as good as dead."

I smiled. A very dark smile. How much easier life would be without them around.

They made their move and lost. Now they'd pay the ultimate price!

I find it quite interesting that she wants to leave the Wolf World behind yet she blurted out I love you to Mr. Black. Makes me think she is starting to adjust to wolf life and possibly be accepting it. I think its great how she attacked, she showed them that she is not just a human anymore, but one of them and she can fight just as well if not better. It's Awesome.

There is going to be some hell to pay now! Louise and Mr. Black have grown closer, even if they aren't yet ready to admit it. Louise didn't blurt out something she wasn't already thinking and feeling.

Louise seems very confused about her feelings, can't blame her though.
