Shadows In The Night

Shadows In The Night

A Poem by Tina Kline
"

A vampire's love song for a lover.

"

Shadows in the night.

Voices calling

echoing in the dark places.

Voices calling me to you.

Voices calling you to me.

Crying out our lonely misery.

Echoing for eternity.

Shadows in the night.

Voices calling

seeking out the darker places.

Me seeking you.

You seeking me.

Seeking to end our lonely misery.

Seeking for eternity.

Shadows in the night.

Voices calling

here in the moonsplashed light.

Exposing the darker places.

Exposing me to you.

Exposing you to me.

Finally ending our lonely misery.

Ending it for all eternity.

Hello there. I really like this poem. It has a nice pace to it. I also love how it incorporates the title in so many lines like an echo. You have some serious talent. You deserve more appeal 'cause you're pretty good! I look forward to more from you.

I would also like to point out that I love the tone of this piece. Fantastic write!

A very mysterious and seductive poem. I found it very alluring and it pulled me in. Nice job.

The repetition in this poem is really effective for evoking a sense of obsession and purpose. Darkly seductive and well done.

Ah, the meeting of two like beings... Always celebratory in nature, for the darkness then becomes light. The cold, warmth. The stillness of spirit, animated. A wounded heart, healed. Excellent!

I can certainly see the group HIM doing this.... really excellent work.
That is what I call a story of eternal love.

Excellent! I like the way your use repetition of key words...like EXPOSED.
It has the dark side running all through it! I can almost hear the voices calling....scary!

This is dark yet beautiful. I love the story created within the poem, how two lonely vampires find each other ending the days of misery. Nicely done.

I like the sense of being outside the light, being on the other side of things. Who knows what may be found, or learnt there? Maybe we all have something of the dark in us. So it seems natural, not something to be shunned. I like the repetition and cld see the figures flitting around as I read. I also allowed my imagination to take me out of myself to flit with them. I think the best dab is 'here in the moonsplashed light' as it seems to emphasise the shadows. Also it evoked a pale, bloodless visage ... staring out from between the lines almost. (I can also now see the gull hovering from your other poem for some reason!)
