The Journey

The Journey

A Poem by Tina Kline

Swiftly flowing rivers
Going on their own adventures
Dare I spread my wings and fly?
Follow the pathways nature presents?
Dare I break free from my life
And go places I've never been?
New lands on foreign shores?
I long to break free from my comforts
Let go of all the things I own
Set sail on the river by my home
And go, go on this once in a lifetime trip
A trip to turn into the rest of my life
Yes, my wings ache to unfurl
As I stand on the shore and dream
I decide and open my wings wide
Yes! Yes! I leave behind my life
I lift off and follow the river
Making its way to somewhere
A place I've never been
I smile, my heart soars as I do
Life is exciting once again
And I am so glad, so very glad
That I chose to set myself free
And start on this new life
As I embark on this grand journey

This is a glorious poem of adventure. It inspired me to write this tiny gift poem for you which you may keep as your own.

River Goddess

Near her banks she calls for me
to engage my fantasy.
Bowing to her, I agree.
Life is nothing if not free.

Spread your wings my devotee.
Loose those chains that trouble thee.
Climb above the highest tree.
Journey with me to the sea.

"Sigh" freedom is everything, it is our dream, our desire, but seldom do we take that risk.
Outstanding poem!

i love the idea of the freedom felt when taking risks...breaking down the barriers, letting ourselves journey into never explored lands...of body, of heart of soul.
and the more places we've never been, the more places to visit, and then the more memories we have.

risks are good.
