Longing.......

Longing.......

A Poem by Tina Kline

Soft sweet warm breezes

Gently sway the willow trees

Brilliant songs of endless birds

Winging high and flying free

Who doesn't watch the birds

Wishing they too could fly

Freedom to leave life behind

Rise up high and joyously cry

Birds come and then they go

Only to return the next year

While we stand and dream our dreams

Knowing they will never be clear

Yes, i felt a powerful longing as I reached the end. I wish I could be as free as a bird and fly about abgove everything and just do as I please. Not worry about rules and regulations or responsibilities. Just be free to live my life as I see fit. A truly well crafted wonderful poem!

Thanks so much!!
This is interesting to me on a few levels.
First, I enjoyed the read and the flow of the poetry. The words were not overly ponderous and the thought was easy to follow.
However, I find myself feeling something different than your words plainly state and relating the poetry to the picture of the river more than the actual subject used in the poem of birds migrating.

I found my mind considering the life of a river found in its ability to move, to flow, to be frothy and unclear in determined and directed energy with moments of clarity found in the calming pools.

I found myself relating to the thought of feeling stuck and unclear in my dreams and goals. Wishing I could be like the river and keep moving and find the clarity as the path found less urgent slopes...

Keep dreaming and do not stress the white water wash of your clarity... Dreams have a way of clarifying themselves as we live with intention.

A wonderful little thought to enjoy over the lunch hour.

Your thoughts give me cause to dream of a time such as this..........words of birds singing, warmth of breezes make me want to be in such a place! Life is revealed, but many of our dreams remain only a dream!
Lovely words my friend! It is good to see you writing again!
