Blood Awakening

Blood Awakening

A Chapter by Tina Kline
"

An ANN THE VAMPIRE story.

"

It had happened at last. Tyler and Justin's dream of many years had at last come true. They were now vampires. Ann and Eddie waited for the transformation to be complete.

“Are the girls ready?” Ann asked for like the 100th time.

“Yes they are.” Eddie said, not letting himself get irritated. He understood Ann's anxiousness. Both Tyler and Justin would be ravenous for blood when they woke.

Ann peered closely at Tyler. He was so much paler now. She looked for any signs that he was near wakefulness.

Eddie watched her. Yes, she was so beautiful, like some rare creature he was lucky enough to get to be with. And she loved him and he loved her. She was fiercely protective of her biological son, Tyler, and her unofficially adopted son, Justin. So she waited by their sides for them to wake from their transformation. Ann would be there for both her sons when they woke. They wouldn't be themselves when they woke until they had feasted on human blood.

Ann turned to Eddie, “Please get the girls. I sense Tyler is near waking. Justin will be too.”

Eddie didn't question Ann. He rose from his chair and went to bring the two girls to the room. They'd be Tyler and Justin's blood meal when they woke. Both Ann and Eddie knew the girls would not survive but their only concern was for their sons.

Tyler was showing signs of waking. These signs only a vampire would notice. A human would think him dead. But Ann knew he was about to wake. She heard Eddie returning with the girls.

Eddie shoved the girls into the room. Their hands were bound with leather straps with a chain connected to a metal hook attached to the straps. They were shoeless and terrified. Ann didn't care about these girls. They were just food for her sons.

Tyler's eyes opened. They shimmered red. His mouth opened, exposing his upper and lower fangs and a high pitched cry escaped.

“Son!” cried Ann, overwhelmingly happy. Her son was alive and a vampire. Eddie had one of the girls right there. “Here Tyler! Drink! You know what to do.” Ann put the girl into Tyler's arms.

With a growl Tyler pulled the screaming girl into position and without hesitation he sank his fangs into the girl's neck and started feasting. The girl struggled but didn't have a chance. Soon enough she became too weak to fight.

With pride in her eyes and happiness shining on her face Ann watched her son feasting. Her son Tyler. Now he would live with her forever.

Justin woke with shimmering red eyes and exposed fangs.

“Here son! Feed! You know what to do!” Ann said, her voice high with excitement.

Eddie picked up the other girl who was white with terror at seeing what was happening to the other girl. She cried and moaned looking like she was about to faint as Eddie placed her in Justin's arms. Growling he sank his fangs into her throat, holding her tight.

The room was filled with the sounds of feasting and the scent of terror and blood.

Ann watched Tyler feeding. He was already looking calmer. Justin was drinking his girl's blood, tearing and ripping at her flesh. He's a little rough with his meal, Ann thought. The girl passed out while Ann was watching. Ann smiled to herself and shrugged. The girls weren't meant to survive. If the vampire boys didn't kill them, either Ann or Eddie would.

Eddie looked at Ann and smiled. He took her hand and squeezed it gently. “We have a proper clan now.”

     Ann smiled, “Yes we do.”

“Mom. Dad.” Tyler said. He pushed the unconscious girl's body away from him. Eddie quickly tossed it to the floor as Ann went and sat beside Tyler on the bare bed.

Tyler had blood on his face and hands. “Am I a vampire?”

“Yes, Tyler. You are a vampire now.” Ann said.

“Wow! Everything is so much more intense. I feel and hear so much! I feel so alive!” He looked down at the girl on the floor. “Is she dead?”

“No. But soon she will be.” Eddie answered him.

“Oh?” Tyler continued looking at her.

Oh no, thought Ann, He's going to want to save her!

“It's okay Tyler.” Eddie said. “We're vampires. We have to feed on human blood. Animal blood won't do.”

With a savage growl Justin finished his meal. He pushed his girl onto the floor. “Mom. Dad. Tyler.” he looked at them in turn. “Hey! This is cool!”

“Welcome Justin, my son.” greeted Ann. She took both Tyler and Justin's hand. “Welcome to the world of vampires. All of our worlds now.”

“Mom. What about her?” Tyler pointed to the girl on the floor he'd had his first blood meal from.

Justin looked down at the girl Tyler pointed to then the girl he'd fed from.   “Oh?” he said a little confused.

Ann and Eddie looked at each other. “We should.” Ann said.

Eddie nodded. They both knew it would upset Tyler if they let his girl die. And Tyler would have a very long time to be upset over it. “Best to let the girl live.”

     Tyler smiled, “Thanks.”

“What about my girl?” Justin asked. She was still alive, barely though.

“Okay both of you. We'll turn them. They'll be part of our clan. While they transform we'll go out into the night. You'll see how different and wonderful it is as a vampire. You will learn to fly as well. It will be easy.”

They placed both girls on the bare beds Tyler and Justin had used as Ann and Eddie bit their wrists and fed both girls blood, a little from Ann and a little from Eddie.

Once that was done Ann, Eddie, Tyler and Justin entered into the night. The huskies howled and the wolves in the distance howled, the werewolves welcoming the two new members into Ann's vampire clan.
